Bacterial Infections
The normal skin of healthy individuals is highly resistant to invasion by the wide variety of bacteria to which it is constantly exposed. To effectively invade a host, the microbe must initially gain access. They first colonize the nasal mucosa, throat, perineum, axilla, hands, involved skin in atopic dermatitis and from there the bacteria are then available to contaminate any breaches in the skin.
